Palate Portfolio: GBK Big Mouth

Have you heard? GBK have launched their new Big Mouth burger this summer! GBK have been slaying the burger game ever since they established themselves in the London food scene in 2001. 3 incredible New Zealanders started GBK’s story almost 2 decades ago, which is still going strong and is one hell of an incredible force today, with over 75 restaurants in the UK.

GBK has always been one of our go-to burger joints, considering that there’s one located right next to uni. When we heard about the new burger in town we had to gather up all of our friends and head on down for a post-exam and mid-internship treat!

Being the young professionals we are, we all met up in the St Paul’s branch, very much suited and booted, keen to fill our hungry tums and gossip about our work (nothing confidential though, we signed confidentiality agreements, don’t sue us). Upon arrival we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff and a few gifts from GBK’s head office…

THE BURGER

The new Big Mouth special is made up of a 6oz beef patty, smothered in Yeastie Boys Big Mouth beer infused cheese, topped with bacon monster crunch, beef ketchup, smoked chilli mayo, all served up in a brioche bun – wow what a MOUTHFUL. The burger was deliciously smokey, cheesy and so exquisitely juicy. Moreover, if you’re up for the challenge you can get the even Bigger Mouth for an extra £2.50, which adds another patty to the mix.

Overall, we’ve always loved a good wholesome trip to GBK, and this was no exception. The Big Mouth is an absolute beauty and a must-have in your tummy!
